The difference between the bending center and the bending machine
1. Panel bending center
The bending center refers to the central position of the deformation of the metal sheet during the metal bending process. The determination of this position is very important for metal processing, as it directly affects the size, shape, and accuracy of the bent workpiece. When bending a metal sheet, it will bend around the bending center, so the position of the bending center cannot be determined arbitrarily. Usually, the bending center is located at one-third of the material thickness.
The position of the bending center can be determined through various methods such as experiments, such as simulation, drawing, calculation, etc. When designing and manufacturing bending molds, it is necessary to consider the position of the bending center to ensure the quality of the bent workpiece.
2. Press brake
The press brake is a mechanical equipment used for processing metal plates. Its function is to use the upper and lower molds to bend the metal sheet parts, thereby obtaining the required shape. The bending machine is divided into manual, hydraulic, and electric bending machines according to the driving mode, and is divided into horizontal and vertical bending machines according to the structural form. Bending machines are widely used in various fields such as manufacturing vehicles, electronic equipment, building materials, furniture, and are essential tools in metal processing.
3. The connection and difference between the bending center and the press brake
The bending center and bending machine are both very important in metal processing, and there are also close connections and differences between them.
Connection: The position of the bending center is very important for the use of the bending machine. Only by determining the position of the bending center can the position and angle of the upper and lower molds be correctly set, thus enabling the correct bending process of the metal sheet parts. At the same time, through a reasonable working mode and control system of the press brake, the deformation and bending degree of the metal sheet near the bending center can be better controlled, thereby obtaining high-quality bending products.
Difference: The main difference between the bending center and press brake lies in their different functions and application scenarios. The bending center is a pure concept that is only related to the deformation of the metal sheet, and is not related to the type of equipment and working mode. A press brake is a specific processing equipment that not only controls the position of the bending center, but also completes the bending process of metal sheets. Therefore, bending machines are usually equipped with various types of molds and working modes to meet different processing needs.
Although both bending centers and press brakes are related to metal bending in metal processing, they have different meanings and application scenarios. Understanding the connections and differences between them can help us better apply them to improve the efficiency and quality of metal processing.
